12 OCT 2011 15:01:57I've been asked by our technicians if I can find out how often 'Average waiting time' updates itself as they feel it doesnt reflect the current 'active prescriptions' accurately enough?
thanks

13 OCT 2011 11:10:02Hi Lee,
In Lookups - Application Settings you will see a setting called AvgWaitLastHourOnly. When this setting is set to 'True' the Average wait is based only on prescriptions completed in the last hour. When set to 'False' the whole day is used.
If you don't see the Application Settings link you may be running an older version of PTS and the setting change needs to be done on the server. You'll need to ask a system administrator to jump on the server and open the PTSWeb directory and open the file 'web.config' in Notepad. It is an XML file and they will see the aforementioned setting as a key, and they will be able to change it's value to the desired value and save the file.
They should do this when nobody is using the system if possible. Fortunately the process shouldn't take too long.

29 NOV 2011 13:29:27following on from this - is there a way for there to be a minimum time set - we occasionally get tickets saying 2 minute wait.... becuase of the activity etc - i would really like a minimum of 15 minutes set, on the printed ticket for the patient - is this possible

29 NOV 2011 16:21:20Hi Corrine,
This setting is called MinimumWait and is new in version 4.3, which is now available.

30 NOV 2011 10:57:20Here at Derby Hospitals we tend not to use the average wait, again because it doesnt represent the workload turnaround.
We are running version 4.0 so following Marcs server instructions above
Amend the settings
ShowAverageWait = False
TicketMessage = Minimum waiting time 20mins. Please expect further delays at busy periods
CollectionStatusMessage =Minimum waiting time 20mins. Please expect further delays at busy periods
ShowAverageWaitTicket = False
Obviously alter the message to display your custom message
These settings wont show an average at all but will display the message above.
This has proved a great workaround until we get to upgrade to 4.3
