04 MAR 2011 17:17:07We are looking at now implementing tracking on all control drug books within the dispensary (UHB) and would be interested to know how other Trusts have been set-up and what process you are following?
Do you book in every CD book on the booking screen or have found ways of scanning this into the system?
Appreciate your ideas?

Here at Derby Hospitals we book them in individually.
They are set up as prescription type "CD Order Book"
Book in against the ward/department.
Hospital number and name usually left blank, although some enter "stock" in patient ID field.
Only 2 steps "Book in" and "Final Check" and are given a target of 360 mins.
Seems to be working well for us
