PTS usually connects to label printers over the network via printer sharing. When the printer is moved to a different PC, or the PC or printer are replaced, the printer sharing configuration becomes invalid and PTS cannot print.
Symptoms
After moving the printer, replacing the printer, or replacing the PC it is connected to, PTS will no longer be able to print to it.
Cause
The printer sharing configuration no longer correctly points to the 'new' printer.
Solution
More often than not it is more straightforward to simply re-install the printer from scratch.
Advanced users familiar with printer sharing may be able to fix the existing link. Follow the instructions for configuring and sharing the printer on the client PC, and then on the server, modify the port in use for the printer on the server so that it refers to the new printer path. If you can accomplish this, you will not have to reconfigure the server printer driver nor the Printers setup page in PTS itself.
