Status Screen Messages

Status screen messages are messages, videos or images that can be displayed on the Collection, Delivery and Dispensary status screens.

These are generic messages or announcements and are designed to be shown continually throughout the day. The messages will be displayed publicly and as such no patient information should be included.

HTML code is supported.

Examples include:

• Warn of long delays
• Explain current Covid mitigation procedures
• Play a video about annual flu jabs or other health PSAs
• Advising wards of the pharmacy opening hours

Accessing the setup page

The PTS sidebar with Setup selected.

Like many of the different PTS utilities, setup is found in the left-hand side bar.

Hover over the sidebar with the mouse cursor and the side bar will expand. Select Setup to reveal a drop-down list of the various setup pages you have permission to access.

To choose a setup page click on its name in the list to be taken to the setup page.

PTS 5 is the most user configurable version of our Prescription Tracking System to date. As a result parts of this Wiki assumes that the reader has permission to access the elements of the system in question. If you don't see specific items and utilities where they are supposed to be you may not have permission to access them.

Adding new status screen messages

To create a new status screen message access the actions menu by clicking on the actions menu icon at the top right of the page, then from the actions menu click the New Status Screen Message button.

Click OK when you're done. The process then continues in the status screen message popup.

Editing existing status screen messages

To edit an existing status screen message, select the status screen messages you wish to amend by clicking on its entry in the list to load the status screen message popup.

• Message
  This is a free text field that can also accommodate HTML5 code for embedding pictures and video into the message.
• Message type
  This specifies on which status screens the message will be displayed.
• Position
  The size and position of the message (only applicable to collection status/outpatients screens).
• Duration
  The length of time the message will be displayed. This is useful for making embedded videos disappear, as PTS will have no knowledge of the runtime of external videos.
• Active
  Activate or deactivate existing messages here. Can be preferable to deleting messages if the message may be relevant again in future, such as seasonal flu jab PSAs.

Filters tab

Using the filters tab you can further target a message to specific dispensaries or wards.

• None
  The message has no filter and will appear on all applicable status screens.
• Dispensary
  Target the message to only specific dispensaries e.g. a patient instruction that is only relevant to a certain dispensary.
• Ward
  Target the message to only specific wards e.g. warn a hospital wing about a delayed delivery.
