Clarity version 2.5 coming soon, free demo online now!

Clarity, our activity analysis slash generic data capture software, is soon to be updated to version 2.5. The update focuses on reporting and feedback, sporting live 3D charts on the homepage and 7 new reports, as well as the option to set the system to keep a tally of results as opposed to recording durations (I'll explain this more in a moment).

The new live 3D charts are very cool. As well as the standard text-based feedback on the homepage you will now also be able to refer to live 3D bar and pie charts which summarise the past weeks data in an instant, or you can click through to an individual User or Project like normal and the charts will change to reflect the selected data! Way more useful than a grid of text and numbers I think you'll agree.

We are also including several new reports in Clarity 2.5. These are:

User Timeline Report With Comments
Tally Bar Chart
Tally Pie Chart
Detailed Tally Bar Charts
Detailed Tally Pie Charts
Linear Tally By Operator
Linear Tally By Operator With Comments

We have also added a toggle to each profile so you can specify whether the system should work out a duration for each recording or record it as a tally.

For instance, if you have a profile for conducting a questionnaire you probably don't want your reports telling you how long the question took to answer, instead you're only really interested in what the answers were. The new "Report Format" toggle allows you to do this easily by letting you specify which of your profiles should report durations (like an activity analysis project) and which should report a tally (like a questionnaire). I'm assured that if you have been in need of this feature you will understand what this all means!

We tweeted a few days ago about our new online Clarity demo and already there has been a wave of interest (thank you!) so you'll be pleased to hear that the demo's already been updated to version 2.5, so feel free to have another look!

The demo can be found here: http://tmsinsight.com/c_13_69_free-online-demo.

Until next time!

Introducing new Datalogic cordless scanner: Gryphon M4100-HC

Hi everybody! Today we are introducing the Datalogic Gryphon M4100-HC cordless scanner, designed specifically for the healthcare market, into the range of certified PTS compatible barcode scanners and we will soon add it to our online shop.

The Gryphon offers much the same functionality as the Datalogic Powerscan M8300-D workhorse but at a more attractive price.

With a quoted range of 30 metres from base station to scanner the unit can be readily used in large pharmacies and within medicine prep areas, and during PTS certification successfully transmitted data over 15 metres through 3 steel ‘sandwich’ walls.

The GM4100-HC models have an industry sealing rating of IP52 to protect sensitive electronic components from contact with dust and liquids. Sanitized plastics offer additional protection from routine cleaning and disinfection from specialized cleaning solutions used by the healthcare industry. The Gryphon GM4100-HC easily withstands repeated drops from 1.5m ensuring uninterrupted activity despite any accidental drops or rough handling.

Pricing and full specification will be published soon. Stay tuned!

Hi everybody. Today we can finally announce that the Prescription Tracking System 4.3 update has gone live and is now available at the Downloads and Updates section.

Here is what is included in this update:

Bug Fixes:

Inactive ward users now will not appear on the Ward Selection Page. Also Wards that are not open will also not appear.
Error Barcodes that don't exist in the drugs table get displayed as they are entered on error report (i.e. free text will be displayed)
Web Service handles 'Permitted Grades' functionality correctly.
PDA Delivery App amended to work on high res devices.
PDA Delivery App displays correct number of batched recordings when frequently going on/off a wireless network.
Will not allow deletion of dispensaries if being used (i.e anyone allocated to them).
Fixes issue where scanning a new user generates an 'invalid user' error.

New Features:
Unified installer. Installation will now install SQL components as well as web components. When updating relevant settings will be copied from the old site.
Web Site and Web Service now use .NET 4
Version Number now appears on the footer of the PTS homepage
Global application error handling page (to aid in reporting errors).
Only users that have a registration number entered in the Users lookup table can scan the responsible pharmacist barcode.
Prescriptions Details screen will display the cause of the error if manually recording of an activity/collection/delivery occurs rather than just refreshing.
System settings moved to a table in the database so that they can be easily changed. Added a screen to edit (add link to Lookups menu - only accessable by sys admins.)
Comms server returns an error if an activity is scanned on a completed prescription on a different date than it was booked in.
New Filters on reports screen: No. Items Dispensed, Day of Week (e.g. Monday, Tuesday etc.)
Implemented new functionality on reports screen: there is no longer a 'search' button; a search is now performed automatically after selecting each search criteria and pressing the OK button.
New functionality on PDA App: Users can now 'cancel' the last barcode that was recorded. The delivery signature can also be cleared and re-entered.
PDA App now shows number of prescriptions in each Ward/Bag on the list of Wards/Bags to be delivered.

Those customers with Premium support who have not used their inclusive on-site day may wish to use it for this installation/upgrade. If you have already used your day we can also offer a 25% discount on our standard rate.

New Bluetooth barcode scanner available for PTS

Hi again. Today we're introducing the Honeywell / Metrologic Voyager Bluetooth 9535 barcode scanner to our line of PTS-compatible barcode scanners.
This scanner offers an excellent, cost effective alternative to the Datalogic PowerScan wireless scanner.

The Voyager Bluetooth barcode scanner is supplied complete with base station + charger, power supply and USB cable; everything you need for cordless communication. This means the complete price of the hardware is one third of the cost of our previous cheapest cordless device!
We are regularly asked for a cost effective device that can be used in those areas of the pharmacy where it is inconvenient or unsafe to connect to the nearest PC via a cable - and this is it.

More information is available at the Honeywell Voyager BT9535 product page, or if you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment.

Clarity 2.0! PTS Updates! Remote access technology!

You get a lot of bang for your... pound sterling with a TMS Insight Support Contract, not least because of the neverending commitment we have to keeping our systems up to date with brand new features and improvements long after the date of purchase. It is through this policy that long time users have seen their systems evolve from MS-DOS based applications running on a 9 inch screen to the robust, server-based, dynamic applications we see today without repurchasing the software ONCE. Not a bad deal, right? Well, today we can announce that our Clarity activity analysis application (formerly known as Insight 20/20) is soon to be updated to version 2.0, and again you lucky support contract holders will be able to grab it for free from our website.

Clarity 2.0 combines all previous updates into one neat package while sporting a brand new interface that retains the legendary ease-of-use of the original but with a welcome face lift. What's more, with built in support for the very competitively priced Opticon OPN-2002 and the upcoming PX-30 barcode scanners Clarity 2.0 could make activity analysis an even more enticing prospect for your organisation. Making the most of the very latest web standards and technologies Clarity makes activity analysis easy, intuitive, and highly cost-effective.

Clarity isn't the only application getting the update treatment either. PTS was updated to version 4.2 earlier this month bringing with it a page full of improvements as well as incorporating the changes from 4.0 and 4.1. The full list of changes and the update itself can be downloaded right now from the Downloads and Updates section.

Perhaps the most exciting news today, however, is the announcement of our brand new remote support programme for Premium support contract holders. Integrated into the support area right here on our website, the remote access application can connect your support technician to your computer over the web in seconds. What's more, the software doesn't need to be installed, it doesn't need to be run by an administrator and it doesn't require any tinkering with your normal firewall. It just works, right from the website! This state of the art technology is available right now for new and existing Premium contract holders alike, along with all of your existing benefits and discounts. Standard contract holders, remember you can upgrade your contract at any point in your contract period.

On changes to the website and new software

Is the snow still around where you are? We think we’re finally seeing the last of it here in the Midlands. Hopefully, anyway… I’ve never been a big fan.

Anyway there have been a few changes around here at tmsinsight.com that you may have noticed going live over the past week or so, and I thought I’d go over them here and explain what they’re all about.

Firstly, welcome to the first item of business, the brand new blog! Well alright… it’s not exactly brand new as readers of the old News section will tell you, but we’ve given it more than just a facelift: we are also changing its primary function to a more up-to-date source of articles and information, as opposed to a somewhat stuffy collection of press releases. And with any luck it will be a bit more fun to read too!

Our official Twitter feed @tmsinsight has only been running for a short while now but is already establishing itself as a great way of hearing the very latest news from us, so we went ahead and placed the live feed right here on the website. It’s worth following if for example you need to know as soon as possible when a new software download or update is available in the Downloads and Updates section. And speaking of which: the Downloads and Updates section has also been improved and now features release notes and other tweaks.

We are in the process of opening up the forum to general users as opposed to just support contract holders as a way of shifting its function from that of a support tool to a more traditional forum. Feedback from a cross section of our contract holders suggested you much prefer to use the established support ticket utility for support issues which had left the forum without much love, so we concluded that repurposing it to a traditional forum is a fairly logical step since the website is arguably in need of one. We’ll be making gradual steps towards this over the coming weeks so watch this space, or why not be ready and register now?

For the first time we can announce that in the coming months we will be re-releasing our communications package for batch barcode scanners, TMS Comms 6, as freeware software and offering it for free download on our website. Thousands of people use TMS Comms 6 every day with their Windows PCs or TMSi systems, and we believe that individuals out there who need to download data from their Panasonic, Opticon or Symbol barcode scanners with a lightweight and easy-to-use application should be able to do so freely. We will have more information as development continues!

SMS alert feature added to Client's area

Since the launch of the Client's area nine months ago the most requested feature was by far the ability to receive SMS alerts when a support ticket was progressed. Today we are happy to announce the feature has gone live, and in the few hours since launch it has a 100% take-up rate.

Please remember to add your mobile number here before using it.

For the interested among you, since going live last June the Client's area now handles over 14% of all of our support correspondence (and rising) and 30 of our clients are believed to use it exclusively.
New cleaning management system in development

TMS Insight's Hotel Services System is being rewritten (and rebranded and renamed!).
Due to overwhelmingly positive feedback from our latest products we are moving more of our data capture solutions to web-based platforms, and the new HSS is no exception. This means we can offer all of the current systems cleaning contract management and evaluation functionality with a much more user friendly interface, and of course on an inherently networkable platform.
This new product will be offered free of charge to current HSS support contract holders, with pricing for new customers TBA. Coming in Spring 2010.
