Is the snow still around where you are? We think we’re finally seeing the last of it here in the Midlands. Hopefully, anyway… I’ve never been a big fan.
Anyway there have been a few changes around here at tmsinsight.com that you may have noticed going live over the past week or so, and I thought I’d go over them here and explain what they’re all about.
Firstly, welcome to the first item of business, the brand new blog! Well alright… it’s not exactly brand new as readers of the old News section will tell you, but we’ve given it more than just a facelift: we are also changing its primary function to a more up-to-date source of articles and information, as opposed to a somewhat stuffy collection of press releases. And with any luck it will be a bit more fun to read too!
Our official Twitter feed
@tmsinsight has only been running for a short while now but is already establishing itself as a great way of hearing the very latest news from us, so we went ahead and placed the live feed right here on the website. It’s worth following if for example you need to know as soon as possible when a new software download or update is available in the Downloads & Updates section. And speaking of which: the Downloads & Updates section has also been improved and now features release notes and other tweaks.
We are in the process of opening up the forum to general users as opposed to just support contract holders as a way of shifting its function from that of a support tool to a more traditional forum. Feedback from a cross section of our contract holders suggested you much prefer to use the established support ticket utility for support issues which had left the forum without much love, so we concluded that repurposing it to a traditional forum is a fairly logical step since the website is arguably in need of one. We’ll be making gradual steps towards this over the coming weeks so watch this space, or why not be ready and
register now?
For the first time we can announce that in the coming months we will be re-releasing our communications package for batch barcode scanners, TMS Comms 6, as freeware software and offering it for free download on our website. Thousands of people use TMS Comms 6 every day with their Windows PCs or TMSi systems, and we believe that individuals out there who need to download data from their Panasonic, Opticon or Symbol barcode scanners with a lightweight and easy-to-use application should be able to do so freely. We will have more information as development continues!

In our recent support contract survey nearly two thirds of respondents were interested in a second tier support contract, to include amongst other things a free site visit at our customers convenience.
Based on this feedback we are pleased today to announce the details of our new Premium support contract!
For an extra £350 per year you receive the following benefits:
- One day on site for support, training or consultancy. Standard price: £880
- Free telephone calls to our helpdesk
- 5% discount on all hardware purchases
- 25% discount on further training days
Based on the site visit alone this represents a saving of £530 which we believe is an exceptional offer, with additional benefits to be announced at a later date.

Hello everybody, just wanted to keep you in the loop about some new updates and improvements that have gone live here at tmsinsight.com over the past few days.
You may have already noticed the new look we are sporting lately (try hitting F5 if it hasn't reached you yet), which amongst other things includes a more pronounced and readable menu, improved integration between our product pages and corresponding items in the shop, and some much needed user interface improvements.
Since it's introduction just over a year ago, the Client's Area has become by far your favourite means of reaching us for assistance, with 81% of you now preferring it to phone or email for raising an issue. Because of this remarkable reception we have been more than happy to provide you with some great new features and improvements to the system. These include improved stability when uploading large files to your technician, improved indication of when you were alerted to updates via email and/or SMS and numerous other tweaks and enhancements, including a slightly updated forum.
Some small bugs have also been squashed.
We greatly value your feedback so if you would like to discuss the latest round of updates to the website please feel free to do so
here.

PTS v4.0 has now passed beta and installation of the final version is going ahead at our test sites, including Worthing Hospital where installation is about to complete.
As some of you are aware we have begun contacting all of our users with a presentation detailing the changes and improvements to the system and details of a discounted installation and training day.
However as always if you wish to install the system yourself we will be making the update available free of charge to those of you with a valid support contract.
Check back here in the coming days when the Prescription Tracking System section of tmsinsight.com will have been relaunched as an exploration of version 4.0.

Development of the latest version of TMS Insight's Prescription Tracking System is nearing completion. 3 or 4 lucky customers will be contacted during June to start beta testing and once this is completed we will be contacting all of our PTS users (65+) with a valid support contract to arrange their upgrade.
The new version sports a brand new look and incorporates many of your suggestions over the past few years.
The website will soon be updated to reflect the new version and give you a flavour of what PTS could now bring to your pharmacy.

As alluded to
previously, the long awaited update to the veteran Comms 5 software has been released, and is available now in the
Downloads & Updates section.
We're also lifting the lid on the two major new features for the first time and they are:
- Automatic posting of your scanner data to Clarity or other remote database no matter where you are, and without even opening your web browser
- Support for USB cable based scanner downloading, meaning no more Infrared adapters (for most of you)
Of course, these are in addition to these previously announced improvements:
- Numerous bug and stability fixes
- Improved support for newer versions of Windows
- Runs quietly in the background
- Support for newer barcode readers and cradles
What are you waiting for? Those of you still using Comms 5 head over to the
Downloads & Updates page and download your copy now.

Since the launch of the Client's area nine months ago the most requested feature was by far the ability to receive SMS alerts when a support ticket was progressed. Today we are happy to announce the feature has gone live, and in the few hours since launch it has a 100% take-up rate.
Please remember to add your mobile number
here before using it.
For the interested among you, since going live last June the Client's area now handles over 14% of all of our support correspondence (and rising) and 30 of our clients are believed to use it exclusively. To see what the fuss is about log in via the tool on the right, or see
this page for help.
