Hi
Has anyone had issues with the Honeywell Voyager 1202g scanner regarding batteries and battery life?
Two of these scanners stopped working very nearly simultaneously, all lights worked on the scanner although no noises were heard when booting and shutting down the pc/scanners. The scanners appeared to be working fine but when the button was pressed to scan there was no laser light produced so no barcodes could be read. I tested a brand new scanner on the docks and hey presto the scanner worked fine! I therefore put the battery from the new scanner into one of the none working scanners which then came back to life. I then decided instead of using a new battery from the new scanner to switch the batteries in the two scanners producing no laser light. This worked! Now both scanners are back to life and working fine but I am not certain how long for? This leads me to my questions, has anyone had similar issues regarding batteries or battery life? These scanners are probably our most used and have been up and running for about 14 months but this still seems short for a battery. Secondly if anyone has had this issue have the sourced a battery? I have been scouring the internet for a replacement battery but so far no success has anyone else?

Regards
Matthew.

Hi Matthew,

I have contacted our sales rep regarding replacement batteries, hopefully I'll have a price for you tomorrow.

I'll take a look at the literature regarding battery usage/ life expectancy.

Thanks
Stephen

Hi Matthew,

I've taken a look at the manual and you should expect approx 12 hours battery life from a fully charged unit. There's no mention of life expectancy, however a little bit of research on the web brings me to the following page:

http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

After reading this and a few others I can see why they don't give you a life expectancy on batteries due to the amount of variables!

For the record we can supply you with a new battery and I have a price from the supplier. If you would like any more information on this or a price please contact me direct via email: stephen.drake@tmsinsight.com

Thanks
Stephen
